(11 of 14) _ An opportunity came up for a solo trip to Northern Italy in September 2014. We were in Austria at the time, about to leave for Croatia. The advanced notice? 48 hours. _ Within 2 days I was on a train to Milano. _ Sometimes life throws open doors for a very limited time and you need to make a snap judgement.
