But it's modern history is completely fascinating.⠀ ___⠀ ⠀ We stopped at this scenic bridge on the way to Preveli Monastery in the south of the island. One of the Australian soldiers, named Geoff Edwards, involved in the WWII Battle of Crete sought refuge in the monastery. Upon his return to Western Australia founded a small township named Prevelly in the 1960s.⠀ ___⠀ ⠀ If that name sounds familiar, you're right.
