"Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you'll be criticized anyway." - Eleanor Roosevelt. _ Along Wadi Kelt, etched into the side of a cliff is St George's Monastery located in the Palestinian Territories, about 30 minutes east of Jerusalem. _ This complex is located in what is believed by many to be Psalm 23's "Valley of the Shadow". The monastery was founded by John of Thebes around 480 AD, and destroyed in 641 AD by the Persians. In 1878, a Greek monk, Kallinikos, settled here and restored the monastery, finishing it in 1901.
