"Success consists in being successful, not in having potential for success. Any wide piece of ground is the potential site of a palace, but there's no palace till it's built." - Fernando Pessoa _ San Francisco is full of gorgeous architecture and the Palace of Fine Arts is no exception. _ Even if you've never been to San Francisco you've probably spotted this building as a backdrop in a Hollywood film. It's in The Rock (with Nicolas Cage & Sean Connery), The Room and Time After Time, just to name a few. _ Did you know: Originally built for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition in 1915 it was spared demolition because it was so popular. Since it was only intended to last a short time, it needed to be torn down in 1964 due to deterioration and rebuilt, this time with sturdier materials. _ #alwaysSF #dreambig #architexture
