"You really never know what treasure you'll find when you take the time to look closer." Took a hike around the outskirts of Ubud, Bali this morning with Erin. Discovered new paths and exquisite scenic vistas... and interesting locals. This gentlemen was taking a break from working in the rice fields and didn't speak a word of English. When I gestured if he would mind me taking a photo he was more than willing. As we left Erin said "thank you" in Balinese and his eyes lit up like he'd won the lottery. In his excitement he smacked Erin on the backside. I'll never forget that smile. #humansofubud #natgeotravel #bali
