Built in 1463, it helped the Ottoman Empire to maintain an iron grip on all sea traffic passing through the Dardanelles straight, between the Black Sea and Mediterranean. _ We recently travelled around the Canakkale region 🇹🇷 and discovered many amazing historic sites just like this one.
