"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment. Fools stand on their island of opportunities and look toward another land. There is no other land; there is no other life but this." ― Henry David Thoreau _ Diana's Baths near North Conway, New Hampshire. _ There's just something about New Hampshire that I love. It's intangible, invisible, and silent. Perhaps it's the quirky, relaxed atmosphere. Or maybe the abundance of nature's bounty. Or something else entirely. I can't put my finger on it. What do you think? @visitnh #LiveFreeNH _ Travel tip of the day: before your next international trip check out @tepwireless. We use it for unlimited sharable Internet access everywhere we travel. _ Stay tuned for my next IG post which will share the details about how you can win 1 of 4 cruise packages in October.

"Taking care of our planet is like taking care of our houses. Since we human beings come from Nature, there is no point in our going against nature, which is why I say the environment is not a matter of religion or ethics or morality. These are luxuries, since we can survive without them. But we will not survive if we continue to go against nature." - Dalai Lama _ Admiring the cave dwellings at Mesa Verde National Park in southwest Colorado, USA. _ These are the best preserved Ancestral Puebloan archaeological sites in the United States. With more than 4,300 sites, including 600 cliff dwellings, it is the largest archaeological preserve in the country. _ The area was originally settled around 7500 BCE but these dwellings were only built in the 12th century CE. By 1285, following a period of social and environmental instability driven by a series of severe and prolonged droughts, they abandoned the area and moved south to locations in Arizona and New Mexico. _ This unique location reminds me of how our destiny is so intricately entwined with our environment. And we have to do everything possible to preserve our planet not for our sake, but for our children and grandchildren. _ #mesaverde #archeology @visitdurango

"Snowflakes are kisses from heaven." - Unknown _ Dashing through the snow... _ One of our highlights from our 9-month jaunt around Europe in 2014. Dog sledding in @visitrovaniemi Finland, near the Arctic Circle. _ Definitely should be on your bucket list. _ As we travel the world we rely on @tepwireless for conveniently sharing mobile Internet.

Here we are, at the top of majestic Rothorn, Switzerland. _ We took 2 cable cars to reach the stunning summit, 2,865 meters (9,400 feet) above sea level. It’s called the Mountain of 1000 peaks 🌬️ for very good reason. _ The best way to descend was via giant all-terrain scooters called Lenzi Bikes, our kids loved the thrilling off-road experience. While helmets provided some physical protection, it’s times like those I’m glad we’ve got Mastercard to protect us online against unauthorized transactions. Follow @mastercardau for more details. _ #ZeroLiability #Rothorn #Switzerland

"But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful." - Elizabeth Edwards _ Meteor Crater in Arizona is the best preserved impact crater on earth. _ At 170 meters (560 ft) deep and 1.186 kilometers (0.737 mi) in diameter, this photo doesn't do it justice - this thing is massive! _ 50,000 years ago an nickel-iron meteor measuring just 50 meters (160 feet) across hit the earth at a blazing speed of around 20km (13 miles) per second. The heat generated by the impact was so intense it vaporized most of the meteor. _ Located 37 miles (60 km) east of Flagstaff, it really is in the middle of nowhere but I'm so glad we took the side trip on our #BenderGoRVing trip earlier this year to explore this unique location. Check it out. _ #arizona #natgeolandscape

"Ambition is the path to success. Persistence is the vehicle you arrive in." - Bill Bradley _ View of San Francisco's Financial District from Coit Tower. Arguably the best view in town. _ Standing 853 ft (260 m) tall, the Transamerica Pyramid is one of the most iconic skyscrapers in the United States. At the time it was completed in 1972 it was the eighth tallest building in the world. _ If you've been to San Francisco, what's your favorite part? _ #onlyinsf @visitcalifornia

"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." - Pablo Picasso _ New York's famous Flatiron Building - America's first real skyscraper. Standing at 22 stories, this icon was built in 1902. _ We spent some time in New York last winter. So many awesome things to do with kids in the city that never sleeps. My favorite? The Ride. "There are no constraints on the human mind, no walls around the human spirit, no barriers to our progress except those we ourselves erect." - Ronald Reagan _ Part 7 of 7 of my Greek Week series. Ancient walls in Thessaloniki - Greece’s 2nd largest city. _ These beautifully ornate fortifications were built by the Byzantines around 390AD and still stand today. _ There are few places in the world where the evidence of colliding empires is so vivid as this particular city. With over 2,300 years of civilization, this region has been home to ancient Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans and finally modern Greeks. Each empire left its mark both culturally and materially – in the architecture, in the food, in the way of life. _ Thessaloniki has been the cradle of innovation in ancient times and still flows with the same creative energy today. _ #ancientgreece
Ancient town of Kastro on the island of Sifnos, Greece. Perfectly blue Aegean Sea in the background. _ Part 6 of 7 of my Greek Week series. This is one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in Greece. _ In Kastro the Archaeological Museum of Sifnos holds ancient artifacts from Greece's Archaic (6th century BC) and Hellenistic (2nd century BC) periods. Well-preserved sculptures bring the tales of ancient Greece to life unlike anything else. I really loved Sifnos. _ ▫️▫️▫️📰 New on travelwithbender.com: 6-Year-Old Boy Goes Face-To-Face With The Largest Shark In The World 📰▫️▫️▫️ _ #greekislands #amazingplacestovisit

6-Year-Old Boy Goes Face-To-Face With The Largest Shark In The World
The idea of swimming with whale sharks will either exhilarate or terrify you. Our 6-year-old son fit into the 2nd category, until he saw how much fun we were having, and then we could’t stop him jumping over the side of the boat.
