It's amongst the New 7 Wonders of the World. _ Also known as "Al-Khazneh", this elaborate temple was the first thing visitors to the ancient Nabatean Kingdom city of Petra would see as they entered. The 40-metre structure was carved out of a sandstone rock face around the 1st century AD. Walking these ancient paths, it's easy to imagine what life would have been like here 2000 years ago. _ I visited Petra during the day but returned at night to see it lit by dozens of candles.🕯️ Breathtaking! It was featured in films like Lawrence of Arabia, Red Planet, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Martian and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. _ If Petra is on your travel plans for 2018 or 2019, save a day for Wadi Rum. I slept in a luxury tent under the stars at Sun City Camp and shared a traditional roast lamb meal. Nature really is the greatest artist. _ A lot of people only visit Upper Antelope Canyon, but I found Lower just as beautiful, if not more so.
