Falling sand in world-famous Upper Antelope Canyon, near Page, Arizona. _ One of my favourite photographers @peterlik sold a shot from this location for a record $6.5 million making it the most expensive photo in the world. _ Last time I visited Antelope Canyon I took a regular tour but this time was on a photography tour which was far better. "A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work." - Colin Powell _ Sometimes when I tell people that I meet that I travel full-time they ask if I've won the lotto. _ Well, on Friday I did. _ The lottery for a permit to hike The Wave in Arizona. _ 54 people turned up in Kanab, Utah and only 10 permits were handed out. The 3+ mile hike out to The Wave is tough, over challenging terrain, especially when carrying cameras, lenses and tripods in a backpack. Even though it's the middle of winter with near freezing temperatures🌡️❄️, you can see how sweaty my back was. This trail is dangerous and hikers have died on it. _ Fortunately I returned to tell the tale. It was a dream come true. And the photos are out of this world. _ On this road trip I've used my @tepwireless hotspot for unlimited internet access (recommended). 🚗🌟

"Remember the Alamo!" - Sam Houston (1793-1863) _ I visited San Antonio, Texas yesterday and took a behind-the-scenes look at one of America's most iconic battles at The Alamo. _ On 6 March 1836 the Mexican army lead by General Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna laid siege for 13 days then attacked The Alamo with 1500 soldiers against only around 200 Texian defenders, including David Crockett, William Travis and James Bowie. _ The battle lasted around 90 minutes. The only Texian lives that were spared was several women and children and a slave named Joe, so he could spread the word about what occurred. _ On 21 April 1836 Sam Houston lead the Texian militia in a surprise attack against Santa Anna and the Mexican army was defeated in just 18 minutes. Texas finally won its independence from Mexico and became it's own country. 9 years later Texas joined the United States. _ #historic #texastodo
