"If I have ever made any valuable discoveries, it has been owing more to patient attention, than to any other talent." – Isaac Newton _ Devils Tower in Wyoming, USA. _ Now that we've finished our epic 1-year #motherofallroadtrips around the US & Canada I've got a chance to go through the tens of thousands of photos I captured along the way. And I'm pulling out some of my favorites like this one. _ Watching the sunset from Devils Tower was one of the many road trip highlights that will forever be etched in my mind. _ And it's hard to believe that prior to Steven Spielberg's film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, this stunning location was relatively unknown. _ #wyoming •••••••••••••••••

#doorporn with a difference... _ Pueblo Town in @xensespark, Mexico has perfected the feeling of too much tequila without requiring a single drink. This street slopes gradually downhill while all the buildings are constructed slanted to one side giving an illusion of walking uphill. You have to see it! _ #mexico #xcaret25

"Life is a great big canvas. Throw all the paint on it you can." - Danny Kaye _ Just came back from @xensespark yesterday near Playa del Carmen, Mexico. These coloured lights are synchronized with music and sound effects. _ This is the newest park in the @xcaretpark family. I heard it only described as "different" beforehand and didn't know what to expect. I'm still not sure how to describe it after being there. The only way I can think of of is Willy Wonka's chocolate factory minus the chocolate. It's a combination of fantasy, illusions for the eyes and mind and senses, plus waterpark rides. Some attractions I've never seen anywhere else. Definitely worth visiting! _ #xenses #xcaret25 _ _ _ _

Clarke _ Taking a stroll through The Aviary in @xcaretpark, Mexico. _ It's like walking through a tropical jungle, complete with beautiful exotic birds, waterfalls and lush vegetation. _ Erin even received a good luck surprise from above... "We can't be afraid of change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean, a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason why you don't have something better." - C. JoyBell C. _ Quebec City skyline from the St Lawrence River. _ I'm motivated by this quote every morning I wake up. There's new experiences waiting for you today if you're open to them. New experiences that will allow you to see further, not only past the horizon, but within yourself. _ #canada #ExploreCanada * * * *

"Do. Or do not. There is no try." – Yoda _ The force is strong with this statue at Lucasfilm Studios in San Francisco. "The French word for wanderlust or wandering is 'errance.' The etymology is the same as 'error.' So to wander is to make mistakes. In other words, to make mistakes, to make errors is sort of the idea of learning through trial and error, allowing the mistakes to be part of the process." - Robyn Davidson _ View of Oakland Bay Bridge from Pier 14 in San Francisco. _ While we were in San Francisco a couple weeks ago I wandered along the bay one evening under a full moon and spotted this gorgeous view. _ Tip: We've recently passed our 4 year anniversary of nomadic travel and have learned a few things along the way. This is SPARTA!!! _ Ah, no. This is Canyonlands National Park near Moab, Utah. _ No need to fight for a good view around here. 😍 _ It seems like only yesterday, but we were in Moab exactly 2 months ago. Since then we've been on a side-trip to Florida, a 1-week RV trip around Arizona & Utah, a 1-week road trip through Northern California, and a 2-week road trip through New Brunswick & Nova Scotia, Canada. Phew! Now we're ready for a well-deserved break, putting our feet up in Playa del Carmen, Mexico for 2 months. This will give us a chance to catch up on writing, photography, and new projects. Our #motherofallroadtrips was a massive 1-year journey around the US and Canada. And I'm a little sad to have wrapped it up. But I look forward to the next chapter of our nomadic travels. "It always seems impossible until its done." - Nelson Mandela _ Dusk over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. _ At the time this bridge was built in 1933 it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. "Success consists in being successful, not in having potential for success. Any wide piece of ground is the potential site of a palace, but there's no palace till it's built." - Fernando Pessoa _ San Francisco is full of gorgeous architecture and the Palace of Fine Arts is no exception. _ Even if you've never been to San Francisco you've probably spotted this building as a backdrop in a Hollywood film. It's in The Rock (with Nicolas Cage & Sean Connery), The Room and Time After Time, just to name a few. _ Did you know: Originally built for the Panama-Pacific Exhibition in 1915 it was spared demolition because it was so popular. Since it was only intended to last a short time, it needed to be torn down in 1964 due to deterioration and rebuilt, this time with sturdier materials. _ #alwaysSF #dreambig #architexture
